What is a Central Office?

A central office is an A.A. service office that involves partnership among groups in a community – just as A.A. groups themselves are partnerships of individuals. A central office is established to carry out certain functions common to all the groups – functions which are best handled by a centralized office – and it is usually maintained, supervised, and supported by these groups in their general interest. The Chattanooga Area Central Office for Alcoholics Anonymous serves as the communication hub and service center for A.A. groups throughout the greater Chattanooga region. Supporting many groups and meetings each week, we help ensure that those seeking recovery have access to the help they need—whether in person or online.

Our volunteers answer our phone line 7-days a week, 24-hours a day, providing real-time assistance and resources for anyone seeking help with alcohol-related problems. The Central Office also updates meeting information regularly, publishes printed and online meeting lists, and helps connect individuals to the support they need.
